What a difference a font makes!
Your choice of font can make all the difference to the look and feel of your wedding stationery.
One of the most pleasing things about personalising your wedding stationery is the ability to change the wording, layout and fonts to suit your tastes. For example, using a swirly, calligraphy font gives a very formal and sophisticated look to a design, whilst a contemporary look can be created using a simple font.
Take the popular Spring Bouquet example below:
The first image uses the font ‘Cambria’ for both the couple’s names and wedding date beneath. A baby pink font for the couples names and sage green for the date incorporates colours taken from the bouquet whilst remaining very plain and simple. We’ve used lower case to give a contemporary twist to the invitation.

Now take a look at the next image. It’s the same design but in comparison with the contemporary style of the invitation above, this example looks very formal and sophisticated. And all we’ve done is changed the font to ‘Montery’ for the couple’s names and ‘Trajan’ for ‘Wedding Invitation’ beneath. We have used the same sage green as the contemporary invitation.
Careful selection of the fonts can make a considerable difference to the overall look of your stationery.
If you find you can’t choose between several fonts, please email the names of the bride and groom and the names of your favourite fonts to info@repondezsilvousplait.co.uk and we will provide you with an example showing you how the text would look in each of the different styles. Sometimes a name can look fantastic in a font you have initially disregarded.
